Billing policy
Refund and Cancellation Policy
This policy applies to FreelanceOS subscription fees paid directly to Jovren Labs. It explains trial and renewal terms, cancellation, refund eligibility, and processing timelines.
Effective 12 August 2026 · Last updated 26 August 2026 · Version 1.1
1. Digital delivery
FreelanceOS is delivered entirely online; no physical product is shipped. Free-plan access is normally available after successful account and email verification. Paid-plan features are normally activated after the payment processor confirms checkout or the applicable trial begins. A short delay can occur while signed payment events are processed. See the Digital Service Delivery Policy for full access timing and delivery details.
If paid access is not activated within 24 hours after a successful charge, email support@freelanceos.app with the account email, charge date, plan, and payment reference. Do not email full card or bank-account details.
2. Free plan and trial
- The Free plan can be used without a payment card.
- An eligible first Pro or Studio subscription may include the 14-day trial displayed at checkout.
- You may cancel before the trial ends to avoid the first paid renewal. Stripe-managed trials retain paid access until the provider's displayed trial end. Razorpay cannot schedule cancellation before its first billing cycle, so cancelling a Razorpay trial ends paid access immediately and returns the workspace to the applicable Free-plan limits. FreelanceOS shows this effect before you confirm.
3. Cancelling a paid subscription
Use the cancellation control available in FreelanceOS Plan & AI settings. Depending on the active provider, this opens provider-hosted billing management or asks you to confirm cancellation directly in FreelanceOS. You may also request cancellation by emailing support@freelanceos.appfrom the account owner's email address. We will acknowledge a support cancellation request within two business days.
Unless hosted checkout or billing management says otherwise, cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period. You retain paid access until that date and will not be charged for the next period. Cancelling does not automatically refund a charge already completed.
A Razorpay subscription that is not in an active paid cycle—including a trial, pending, halted, paused, or overdue state—is cancelled immediately because no current paid period can be scheduled to end later. FreelanceOS shows that effect before confirmation, and the workspace uses Free-plan limits after cancellation.
4. Refund eligibility
Subscription fees are generally non-refundable once a paid billing period begins because the service is made available immediately and a Free plan and eligible trial are offered for evaluation. We will nevertheless review a refund request when:
- the same subscription charge was duplicated;
- you were charged after a cancellation that had already taken effect;
- a verified service fault prevented material use of the paid service for a sustained period and we could not provide a reasonable remedy; or
- applicable law requires a refund.
A request based on mistake, inactivity, change of mind, unused allowance, or failure to cancel before renewal is not normally eligible, but we may consider exceptional circumstances fairly and consistently.
5. How to request a refund
Email support@freelanceos.appfrom the account owner's email address within seven days of the charge. Include the workspace name, charge date, amount, plan, payment reference, and reason. Do not send complete card or bank details.
We will acknowledge the request within two business days and normally approve or decline it within seven business days after receiving the information reasonably needed to assess it. Approved refunds are sent to the original payment method. After we submit a refund, the payment network or bank normally takes an additional 5–10 business days to display it; timing outside our control may vary by issuer and country.
6. Plan changes and failed payments
Self-service plan and billing-interval changes are disabled at launch. Email support@freelanceos.appto request a change; the normal launch path is cancellation at period end followed by a new hosted checkout after the existing term ends. Failed or overdue payments may temporarily reduce the workspace to Free-plan entitlements or suspend paid features. We will not ask you to send card details by email.
7. Payments on a workspace owner's invoice
This policy does not govern an invoice issued by a freelancer, consultant, studio, or other workspace owner to its client. That purchase or engagement is between those parties. The workspace owner is responsible for its own cancellation, delivery, dispute, and refund terms. Jovren does not decide refunds for the workspace owner's services.
8. Mandatory rights and contact
Nothing in this policy limits non-waivable rights under applicable law. For billing help, cancellation, or a refund request, contact support@freelanceos.app. See also our Terms and Conditions and our Digital Service Delivery Policy.
