Legal
Terms and Conditions
These terms govern your access to FreelanceOS. FreelanceOS is operated by Jovren Labs, an India-based sole proprietorship ("Jovren", "we", "us", or "our").
Effective 12 August 2026 · Last updated 26 August 2026 · Version 1.1
1. Agreement and eligibility
By creating an account, starting a paid plan, or otherwise using FreelanceOS, you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy. You must be legally able to enter a contract and use the service for a lawful business purpose. If you use FreelanceOS for an organisation, you confirm that you may bind it.
2. The service
FreelanceOS is subscription software for managing clients, projects, proposals, contracts, invoices, reminders, files, expenses, business records, and related assisted drafting. Features and limits depend on the selected plan and may evolve over time.
FreelanceOS is not a law firm, accounting firm, tax adviser, bank, payment institution, escrow service, or collection agency. Templates, exports, reminders, and AI-assisted output are operational tools, not legal, tax, accounting, or financial advice.
3. Accounts and security
You must provide accurate information, keep credentials confidential, and promptly tell us about suspected unauthorised access. You are responsible for activity performed through your account and for keeping client and business records lawful and accurate.
4. Plans, trials, billing, and taxes
- The Free plan does not require a payment card.
- Paid plans are billed in advance at the price and interval displayed at checkout and renew automatically until cancelled.
- An eligible first paid subscription may include the advertised 14-day trial. Unless cancelled before the trial ends, the selected paid plan begins and the payment method is charged.
- You authorise our payment processor to charge subscription fees, applicable taxes, and any disclosed recurring amounts. You must keep billing information current.
- Prices may change prospectively. We will provide reasonable advance notice when a change affects an existing recurring subscription.
- You are responsible for taxes that apply to your purchase unless we collect them.
Cancellation and refund details are set out in our Refund and Cancellation Policy, and access timing is described in our Digital Service Delivery Policy.
5. Client invoices and third-party payments
Invoices created by a FreelanceOS workspace concern a transaction between the workspace owner and its client. Jovren is not a party to that underlying engagement and is not the merchant of record for it. Workspace owners remain responsible for their services, invoice accuracy, taxes, refunds, disputes, and payment instructions.
Payment-provider features, when available, are subject to the provider's own terms, eligibility, fees, verification, and geographic restrictions. A return from a hosted payment page is not proof of settlement; verified provider records or confirmed bank receipt control.
6. Your content and client data
You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant us a limited licence to host, process, transmit, back up, and display it only as needed to operate, secure, support, and improve the service. You confirm that you have the rights and lawful basis needed to provide personal data and content concerning clients or other people.
7. AI-assisted features
Assisted output can be inaccurate or incomplete. You must review it before use. These features do not autonomously send communications, sign agreements, accept proposals, or change financial records. We may apply usage limits and temporarily disable an AI feature for safety, quality, cost, provider, or compliance reasons.
8. Acceptable use
You must not:
- use the service unlawfully, fraudulently, or to infringe another person's rights;
- upload malware, executable payloads, or content intended to compromise a system;
- probe, bypass, or interfere with security, access controls, usage limits, or tenancy;
- misrepresent payment, signature, tax, identity, or evidence records;
- resell or copy the service except under a written agreement with Jovren; or
- use automated access in a way that harms the service or other users.
9. Availability, changes, and third parties
We work to keep FreelanceOS dependable, but uninterrupted or error-free availability is not guaranteed. We may maintain, modify, add, remove, or discontinue features. We will use reasonable care to avoid materially reducing a paid plan during its current billing period without notice. Third-party services remain controlled by their providers.
10. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the service at any time and may cancel a paid plan through billing management. We may suspend or terminate access for a material breach, unlawful or harmful activity, non-payment, security risk, or when required by law. Where reasonably possible, we will provide notice and an opportunity to cure. Data access and retention after termination are governed by the plan, product controls, and our Privacy Policy.
11. Intellectual property
FreelanceOS, Jovren branding, software, design, documentation, and service content are owned by Jovren or its licensors. These terms give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service during your account term; no ownership rights are transferred.
12. Disclaimers and liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without implied warranties. We do not guarantee client acceptance, enforceability of a contract, payment recovery, tax treatment, revenue, or a particular business outcome.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Jovren will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or lost-profit damages. Jovren's aggregate liability arising from the service will not exceed the subscription fees you paid to Jovren during the six months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. These limits do not exclude liability that cannot legally be limited.
13. Governing law and changes
These terms are governed by the laws of India, without limiting mandatory consumer rights that apply to you. Courts having jurisdiction over Jovren's principal place of business will have jurisdiction, unless applicable law requires otherwise. We may update these terms and will post the revised date. Material changes will apply prospectively after reasonable notice.
